Royal Doulton Coffee Cans with Sterling Silver Spoons
Made in England, 1938
Set of six octagonal coffee cans in blue glaze with floral gilt overlay, with 6 Sterling Silver spoons hallmarked in Brimingham 1938.
The boxed set would have been retailed by Mappin & Webb, London; and as such the spoons carry the Mappin & Webb Hallmark, the box is similarly marked.
The style of the cans is Art Deco through and through, with a beautiful rich blue glaze alternating with intricate floral gilt overlay. The interior of each can also has a single gilt line at the rim. The diminutive proportions of the service allow for such elaborate detail, and provide a striking counterpoint to a functional cafetiere.
Condition: Cans and Spoons in excellent condition;
Box in good condition with stains to silk and interior.
