Silver-Plate Tea Strainer
Made in Germany c.1910/20’s
A silver-plate Jugendstil tea-strainer produced in Germany.
Jugenstil is the name given to the Germanic form of Art Nouveau; the name came from a prominent arts magazine of the time Die Jugend .
As one might expect; Jugendstil (with its affiliations with the Vienna Secession) differed slightly from the more famous French Art Nouveau style; this piece is a good example of the differences. The fluid lines and ornamentation are present; but there also exists a strict and austere quality.
Dimensions: Length - 140mm
Condition: Silver-Plate in good condition; some wear consistent with age
