Designer Unknown, manufactured by Moser Karlsbad in Czechoslovakia. c.1950’s
The ‘ICE’ decanter from Moser was introduced to their range in the 1940’s, and is still being produced and sold today; a testament to its timeless beauty.
Though the designer is unknown, it was likely designed under the Artistic Direction of Rudolf Eschler. Eschler took over from Leo Moser in 1932, and replaced the Art Deco styles with a more austere functionalist style. Geometric shapes and a transparency that allowed the objects inner walls to be seen were key elements of much of his work; both elements are very much in evidence here.
