Silver plate citrus squeezer, made in England by Henry Wilkinson & Co., Sheffield, c.1870’s.
Very interesting silver-plate lemon-squeezer; with mixing spoon, and knife attachments. The ‘twist’ present on the knife and spoon, and the sweeping curves at the spine and head of the item are the sole indicators of it’s provenance; a very restrained piece of design for the Victorain period.
Henry Wilkinson & Co began trading in the early part of the 19th Century, and successfully exhibited at the Great Exhibition of 1851. In 1891, the company was bought by Walker & Hall; one of the most famous names in English Silver (and Silver-Plate).
Silver-Plate and makers-marks to base.
